Dedicated Community Leader | Experienced Educator | Champion for Ward 4

For over three decades, I have called this community home, teaching our youth, serving our local organizations, and investing in the future of Lambton Shores. I am running for Municipal Council to bring tested leadership, strong fiscal accountability, and practical solutions to Ward 4.

Raised in Sarnia and Plympton Township, I have lived with my wife Bev in Forest for the past 27 years. Together, we recently celebrated our 40th wedding anniversary. We raised two children in this community, and were thrilled to welcome our first grandchild last year.

My family's roots in Lambton Shores run deep, stretching back to the 1850s when my great-great-grandfathers helped build the Grand Trunk Railway and established local farms in Bosanquet and Plympton. My grandparents were dedicated local workers, Legion members, and small business owners in Forest. That multi-generational legacy drives my commitment to serve our community today.

    • Dedicated Educator: Taught secondary school for 31 years, organizing board-wide professional development and leading domestic and international student trips.

    • Youth & Athletics Advocate: Coached local boys and girls hockey for over two decades, along with school hockey, rugby, curling, dragonboat, chess, and Reach for the Top teams.

    • Civic Education: Organized mock elections and All-Candidate Meetings to inspire civic engagement in the next generation.

    • Tech-Forward Approach: Consistently adapted to new classroom technologies, keeping skills modern and forward-thinking.

    • Recipient, Lambton Shores Volunteer of the Year (Heritage): Honoured for decades of dedication to local history and community enrichment.

    • President, Forest-Lambton Museum Society: Oversee all operations, including facility maintenance, grant writing, fundraising, team coordination, social media, communications, and hiring and supervising summer staff.

    • Local Projects & Partnerships: Collaborated with the municipality, the BIA, and local artists on the Forest parkette photo murals and downtown mural initiatives.

    • Preserving Local History: Researched and authored historical plaques for the Lambton Shores Nature Trails Association and present regular local history programs with Heritage Sarnia-Lambton.

    • Recreation & Cultural Support: Served on the fundraising committee for the Shores Recreation Centre and personally contributed to both the Rec Centre and Kineto Theatre renovations.

    • Business & Service Club Relations: Built strong, collaborative relationships with local business owners, service groups, and community partners across the region. Frequently consult about ways to improve and promote the community.

    • Agricultural & Heritage Connection: Member of the Western Ontario Steam Threshers Association and participant in the annual Steam Threshers’ Reunion in Forest, celebrating our deep rural roots.

    • Fiscal & Operational Oversight: Manage organization budgets, financial reporting, and grant applications with full transparency.

    • Strong Representation: Built a career-long reputation for standing up for students and colleagues, and for speaking truth to power.

    • Collaborative Problem Solver: Proven ability to work productively with diverse teams, build consensus, and deliver tangible results.
